Luis Sanchez’s hard work has obviously paid off…
“I Grew up in the north part of Houston. I’ve been involved in the automotive industry since I was 15 when I started installing car audio at a local flea market. Then I moved up to doing wheels and tires. That went so well that I opened up a small tire shop in the middle of a neighborhood. A friend brought to my attention that he could do drops on trucks so we started to mess with suspensions and some fabrication. A couple years later I needed a bigger shop. I had customers from out of town coming to get our services. Now we own our own property on the side of the freeway. Business is still growing. I started lifting trucks left and right. Now we are fabricating some of the parts ourselves. I am thankful to all my team members. We are now making Houston great again, one truck at a time!”
“If you are trying to get into the building process its always good to go to shows and look at other peoples’ work. Develop your craftsmanship and start building your dream.”
We asked Luis how his build came about…
“The build process? Hmm… Actually, I was inspired by my son. I saw how excited he was when we watched an episode of Diesel Brothers, where they were building the Mega Ram. So I decided to take the lift and wheels off my 2500 and go taller. I put all new pre-runner style skins with the help of local shops and some friends. Jose, with JB Customs, prepped and painted the inside and out. My close friend Oscar Velazquez, owner of Coaters of Texas did all the Shocker Yellow coated suspension. DRS Industries took care of all the custom bumpers and chase rack. This was a personal project- a labor of love. I only worked with a select few sponsors (sponsor list is below). My favorite part is every time I pull up somewhere, kids run up to the truck to take pictures with “the monster truck”. It makes me smile because it was my own son who inspired me to build this truck in the first place.”
You can see this build in-person at shows such as Lone Star Throwdown, Unlimited Off Road Show, SEMA, Texas Hold ’em, Heat Wave, and Scrapin’ the Coast, as well as local shows.
